I was totally stoked today to get this in my inbox today from Jutasi of Goulasch Exotica:
Forty Thieves Orkestar - Belboeli (andykisaragi remix - Goulasch Exotica vocal mashup)
...combining my Forty Thieves Orkestar remix with some soulful vocals (warren clarke feat. kathy brown - over you & michelle weeks - the light) to great effect, especially in the breakdown. I've always been a bit of a mashup artist and it's a massive honour that someone wants to take something I've done and progress it like this. I think it's definitely an improvement on the original - decide for yourself:

So after that I was checking out some of Goulasch Exotica's other stuff and man some of it is pretty hottttt... check it out after the jump:

Fugees 'Ready or Not' remix:

Secret Archives of the Vatican have released a new free EP, featuring a remix from myself! The EP contains five tracks of Secret Archives' unique mystical global dubsteppy sound, plus my remix which is a stuttery, frenetic, percussive shuffle.

Been quiet on here from me in the last couple of weeks, all sorts of Real Life things occuring, but here's something awesome to make up for it... I covered Opa Novy God's awesome free album Original Goods a little while back, well here's the first of a couple of remixes I'm doing for them, on a carnivalesque balkan house tip with a little dancehall shuffle thrown in too...

There's some good pop music around at the moment! Well there always is really, among the endless churning out of tripe (which I think is probably necessary to turn up the gems) but there's at least two tracks around at the moment which are totally rockin, the first being Tinie Tempah's Pass Out which I correctly predicted would be huuuuuge (at this point I'm retiring from the chart predicitons business with a 100% success rate). The second is Rude Boy by Rihanna - I've never been a fan of her previous stuff but that hook is just pure wickedness. Seems like everyone and his dog has done a remix (my dog is in the studio right now) - here's a little selection:
Heavy dancehall / reggaeton grind: Rihanna & Agent Sasco - Rude Boy Remix (usershare link). I think Agent Sasco replies "like a bus" to Rihanna's "is you big enough?" - that's pretty big
Bleepy IDMesque dancehall: Rihanna - Rude Boy - Murlo Remix (via Palms Out
More after the jump...

I've been thinking for a while that I need some good new balkan stuff to post, since I've been fairly light on it lately and it's kind of one of the main original forces behind Untimely Sound (although the Untimely remit is basically World Music, meaning Music from the World rather than any kind of colonialist interpretation.. ) and lo and behold this morning Brian May aka DJ Delay - no, that's not that Brian May (at least I don't think it is!) - sent me a link to check out his new album - 'a remix album like no other that plumbs the depths and traditions of Eastern European music styles' all with a fairly healthy slab of dub, house and breaks.

(Image robbed from Brenda Howell cos I thought it was kinda cool. Sorry Brenda - but here's a link back to you!)
Here's a new remix from me... it's kind of a work in progress, but everything I do at the moment is kind of a work in progress, due to my convoluted mastering process involving listening on various headphones then burning to CD and listening on a car stereo...
SAOTV - A Bruised Reed (andykisaragi remix 0.2) by andykisaragi

Made this little remix last night:
Phantom (andykisaragi remix 0.1) by andykisaragi
It's a reworking of 'Phantom' by johnny_ripper from his album of industrial-ambient-soundscapey stuff, null/void. You can download the album, plus all the stems to the tracks for your own remixes, here. My mix is a little more upbeat than the original, turning it into a sort of electro-industrial-reggaeton affair...

Bass Music Blog has posted the remix parts to Baobinga & ID's most excellent Tongue Riddim: Tongue Riddim Parts on Bass Music
Here's my mix, which I made before listening to the original (always the most fun way to remix I find!)
Baobinga & I.D. - Tongue Riddim (andykisaragi mix) by andykisaragi

Amari have a remix contest going on at the moment... Bob Hotskin has turned in this mix, quite a pounding affair, stripped down to a few vocal snippets and the sax loop which is pure Bobness, with some lovely synthy paddy action. Bob says be kind as he's only had headphones to master it on. So be kind.
Here's the track (left click to start download).
