Boogat drops some hot latin sounds out of Montreal. Cumbia, reggaeton, dancehall and baile funk combine to form the beats here, produced by Poirier, Nom de Plume and Boogat himself. Montrealesa manages to infuse a hot cumbia-hop beat with the frozen landscape of the track's title - there's something cold about those off beat chords. This, along with Dos Cervesas - built on a minimal cumbiaton beat with a cool poppy hook ('dos cervesas por favor!') - are the two must-have tunes from the EP.
El Hueso combines the rough, simple style of Baile Funk with super clean electro sonics & Hey closes the EP in an extremely mellow manner which shows a lot of promise for Boogat's first full length album, coming next year sometime - but in the context of this EP it doesn't quite fit for me. Another banger please!
