As promised those 2 tunes from the other day have been taken down again... But here's a brand new one from me on a cutesy dancehall ting. Streaming only for now, EP coming soon!

I can't believe how awesome this is, thanks to Chris Thursten (who writes interesting stuff about games) for bringing it to my attention. It's from Anamanaguchi's soundtrack to the Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World game, which is based on the movie, which is based on the comic, which is based on 8-bit game culture. The whole soundtrack is one big YEEEEEEAAAAAH-fest, go check it out: Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game (Original Videogame Soundtrack) (itunes link)
This tune is the absolute highlight though, containing all the best of game soundtracks*, chiptune and demoscene music...
(* with the exception of Monkey Island, which stands alone)

I just uploaded a free album of some of my stuff from waaaay back, well, circa 2002 this is - back when I was Girl Robot (well I still am, sometimes, in theory) and rocked out the lofi-8bit-dub-techno with my Amiga and a couple of bits of supercheap hardware, ah those were the days... Here's a couple to stream:
The whole album is only in 128 unfortunatley, you have to understand that when I started getting involved with music online, we really didn't have that much storage space either online or off - anything more than 128 was just overindulgence... I've only got over this in the past couple of years really, meaning that loads of music of which I literally have the only copy in the world is in relatively low quality... OOPS. If anyone does want any of these to play out, I have a feeling I still have WAVs of one or two - definitely not all - on a hard drive somewhere, hit me up & I'll try to find them!
Anyway check out the album here...

Enjoy!

Ok, here's a potentially regular feature I'm going to start doing: Riddim of the Week!
This week it's Steely & Clevie's supercute Duck Riddim which reminds me of the music from Robocod, which is the sound of pure uncut grinning insantiy - in fact it's kind of made me think a Robocod remix is in order. Check it out:

Man I love this! Must be the most ridiculously cute riddim ever... makes me think of an old skool platform game set on a tropical island where everything is happy and bouncing around. If that's not a sign of good music then what the hell is?
Can't believe I've been writing this blog for several months before mentioning super cute Berliner / New Yorker Neoangin, aka Jim Avignon, he's one of my heroes and also one of the friendliest people in the world... I've been a fan of his since catching the launch party for his first CD in a random basement in Berlin in 1998, the perfect antidote to the Love Parade a few days earlier... He once said that I'm his only fan in the UK, so come on UK, check out these videos then go show him some love. The one above, by Isaac Niemand, is new, the one below is one of my favourite songs of his and just an incredible video by Yukihiro Taguchi.
